HP Designjet 500 and DesignJet 800 Series Printers - TWI: System Error 01:10

A failure has been detected in the electronics module. Causes range from an incorrect electronics module being installed, poor trailing cable connections or a failed electronics module. Follow the instructions below to solve the problem.

The steps below are designed to achieve remote resolution of the issue. If the troubleshooting steps below appear to resolve the issue, attempt to verify printer functionality by printing several internal prints. If the issue persists following the steps below, generate a CSO for service.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. After one minute, turn the printer on.
  3. If the problem persists, generate a CSO for service (send all required parts as listed below).

If any of the troubleshooting steps listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify functionality. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Access the trailing cable at the electronics module and carriage (refer to pages 8-40 of the Service Manual).
  3. Re-seat the trailing cable at the both the electronics module connection and the carriage connection.
  1. Turn the printer on. If no error appears, verify printer functionality (instructions below).
  2. If the error re-appears, replace the trailing cable (refer to pages 8-40 of the Service Manual).
  3. Following replacement, turn the printer on and attempt to verify printer functionality as instructed below.
  4. If the error re-appears, replace the electronics module (refer to pages 8-24 of the Service Manual).
  5. Following replacement, turn the printer on and verify printer functionality as instructed below.

Verifying printer functionalityback to table of contents

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Allow initialization to complete.
  3. Load media into the printer.
  4. From the main front-panel menu, select the Ink menu and press Enter.
  5. Select Troubleshooting and press Enter.
  6. Follow the instructions on the Front panel.
  7. Following a successful Troubleshooting print, printer functionality is verified.
