HP Designjet cc800ps, 815mfp and 4200 Scanner - TWI: System Error 60-xxx

An error has occurred with the touch-screen PC, and is displayed as system error 60-xxx on the touch-screen monitor, or by the following scanner LED light sequence on the scanners front panel:

• Diagnostic = Flashing
• Wait = Off
• Ready = Flashes once

Possible causes are faulty cable connections or a faulty interface board (communicates between the scanner and the PC). Follow the steps listed below to determine the actual cause of the failure and to replace the appropriate parts.

Contact center agents (troubleshooting to be performed with customer)

The steps below are designed to achieve remote resolution of the issue. If the troubleshooting steps below appear to resolve the issue, attempt to verify scanner functionality. If the issue persists following the steps below, generate a CSO for service.

1. Turn the scanner off then on. Continue with the remaining steps if the error re-appears.
2. Check that all cables are connected correctly between the touch-screen PC and the scanner (pay particular attention to the USB/Firewire cable connections).
3. Turn the scanner on. If no error occurs, verify functionality.
4. If the error continues, replace the USB cable (cc800ps) or the Firewire cable (815 MFP/4200 Scanner).

NOTE: Do NOT create a CSO to replace cables, as these are user replaceable parts.

5. Following replacement of the cable, attempt to verify functionality.
6. If the problem persists, generate a CSO for service (send all required parts as listed below).

CE instructions

If any of the troubleshooting steps (including part replacement) listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify functionality. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

1. If the problem persists, replace the interface board (refer to pg. 4-31 of the Service Manual).

WARNING: Turn the printer, scanner and PC off, and disconnect them from the power source prior to performing any maintenance.

2. Following replacement, verify functionality.
