HP Designjet cc800ps, 815mfp and 4200 Scanner - TWI: System Error 50-100 to 50-214

In this document:

A problem has occurred with the scanner firmware, and is displayed as system error 50-100 to 50-214 on the touch-screen monitor, or by the following scanner LED light sequence on the scanners front panel:

Follow the steps listed below to determine the actual cause of the failure and to replace the appropriate parts.

The steps below are designed to achieve remote resolution of the issue. If the troubleshooting steps below appear to resolve the issue, attempt to verify scanner functionality. If the issue persists following the steps below, generate a CSO for service.

  1. Turn the scanner off, allow 10 seconds and turn it back on.
  2. If the error reappears, upgrade the scanner's firmware (if available):

    2. Select downloads from the left-navigation bar.
    3. Under the Firmware / system maintenance section, choose the appropriate product.
    4. Follow the download and installation instructions.
  3. Following a successful firmware upgrade, attempt to verify functionality.
  4. If the problem persists, generate a CSO for service (send all required parts as listed below).

If any of the troubleshooting steps (including part replacement) listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify functionality. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Replace the Main Electronics board (refer to pg 4-27 of the Service Manual).
  2. Following replacement, perform Scanner Maintenance (refer to the Adjustment Chapter of the Service Manual).
  3. Verify scanner functionality.
