HP Designjet cc800ps, 815mfp and 4200 Scanner - TWI: System Error 30-141

In this document:

The correction of Camera B has failed, and is displayed as system error 30-141 on the touch-screen monitor, or by the following scanner LED light sequence on the scanners front panel:

Possible causes are a dirty glass plate or Camera B is incorrectly aligned. Follow the steps listed below to determine the actual cause of the failure and to replace the appropriate parts.

The steps below are designed to achieve remote resolution of the issue. If the troubleshooting steps below appear to resolve the issue, attempt to verify scanner functionality. If the issue persists following the steps below, generate a CSO for service.

  1. Open the scanner cover by placing your fingers just inside the insertion slot and flip the cover upwards to expose the scan area.
  2. Remove the Guide plate by pressing down on the plate as you pull the left and right sliders towards the scanner's center (until the metal safety buttons on each side, pop up).

  1. Use the two handles to lift out the guide plate.
  2. Gently wipe the glass plate. Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth and a mild streak-free glass cleaner.
  3. Dry the glass completely using a separate clean, dry lint-free cloth (like the one provided with the maintenance kit).
  4. Turn the guide plate, which was removed in Step 5, upside down.
  5. Clean the white background assembly. Wipe the white metal area with a lint-free cloth and a mild streak-free glass cleaner.

  1. Clean the platen rollers. Wipe the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a mild streak-free glass cleaner.

  1. Dry the platen and rollers completely using a separate clean, dry lint-free cloth.
  2. Re-install the guide plate and attempt to verify scanner functionality (re-perform function that caused error).
  3. If no error, the problem has been resolved.
  4. If the problem persists, generate a CSO for service (send all required parts as listed below).

If any of the troubleshooting steps listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify functionality. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Verify the scan area has been cleaned as instructed above.
  2. Run SCAN Test 6, Test 9, and check the light profile (refer to pages 1-3 and the Adjustment Chapter of the Service Manual).
  3. If the light profile is distorted, possible causes include the following:
