HP Designjet cc800ps, 815mfp and 4200 Scanner - TWI: System Error 08-147

In this document:

This error indicates that there is a problem with the switch setting on the Operator Panel and is displayed as system error 08-147 on the touch-screen monitor, or by the following scanner LED light sequence on the scanners front panel:

Possible causes are the ID switch settings on the Operator Panel are incorrect or the Operator Panel is poorly connected or faulty. Follow the steps listed below to determine the actual cause of the failure and to replace the appropriate parts.

The steps below are designed to achieve remote resolution of the issue. If the troubleshooting steps below appear to resolve the issue, attempt to verify scanner functionality. If the issue persists following the steps below, generate a CSO for service.

  1. Turn the scanner and touch-screen monitor off.
  2. Allow 30 seconds and turn the scanner and touch-screen back on.
  3. If the error reappears, generate a CSO for service (send all required parts as listed below).

If any of the troubleshooting steps (including part replacement) listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify functionality. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Turn the scanner and touch-screen monitor off.
  2. Remove the Top Cover and the Right Cover (refer to pg. 4-8 of the Service Manual).
  3. Locate the ID Switch at the bottom of the Operator Panel.
  4. Ensure the ID Switch Settings on the Operator Panel are correct:
  5. Install the Right Cover and verify that the Operator Panel Cable is connected correctly to the Main Electronics Board.
  6. Turn the scanner and touch-screen on and attempt to verify functionality.
  7. If the problem persists, replace the Right Cover (refer to pg. 4-8 of the Service Manual).
  8. Following replacement, verify functionality.
