Troubleshooting stepsback to table of contents

If parts are replaced or fixed in any of the steps listed below, attempt to verify printer functionality by turning the printer on and printing internal test prints. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Turn the printer off, using the main power switch located on the back of the printer.
  2. After 10-15 seconds, turn the main power switch on.
  3. If no error appears, attempt to verify printer functionality.
  4. If the error re-appears, continue with the remaining steps.
  5. Ensure the vacuum fan is connected correctly to the electronics module (refer to pages 8-97 of the service manual). If reconnected correctly, attempt to verify functionality. If problems persist continue with the remaining steps.
  1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the vacuum fan from the Main PCA.
  2. Connect the new vacuum fan to the electronics module and turn the printer on.
  3. If the new vacuum fan functions correctly without any error codes, then remove the old vacuum fan from the printer and install the new one (refer to pages 8-103 of the service manual). Following replacement, turn the printer on and attempt to verify functionality.
  4. If the new vacuum fan does not function correctly or problems persist, replace the electronics module (refer to pages 8-97 of the service manual).
  5. Following replacement, turn the printer on and perform all Service Calibrations and the EEROM Setup Service Utility (instructions below).
  6. After performing the Service Calibrations and the EEROM Setup, run the Backup EEROM Service Utility (instructions below).
  7. Turn the printer off then on and verify functionality.
