Troubleshooting stepsback to table of contents

If parts are replaced or fixed in any of the steps listed below, attempt to verify printer functionality by turning the printer on and printing internal test prints. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Verify that the cutter is installed properly in the track on the rollfeed assembly.
  2. Verify the paper being used is not too thick. Thick paper may be raised from the Cutter edge and will prevent the Cutter from cutting.
  3. Turn the printer on.
  4. Open the Top cover and trip the Top cover sensor (use a piece of paper to trip sensor).
  5. Press the FORM FEED key, forcing the printer to try to cut the paper.
  6. If problems with the Cutter are noticed, replace the Cutter. Following replacement, attempt to verify functionality. If problems persist continue with step 7.
  7. Replace the Rollfeed assembly (refer to pg. 6-8 of the 300 Series Service Manual).
  8. Following replacement, turn the printer on and verify functionality.
